And from the photo I've seen photographers braving the water, swimming to deeper parts of the wave pool to capture the actions... aren't they afraid of getting their dSLRs wet?

I like the Skater shot, it's amazing. There's barely any motion blur! The skater's midair pose was frozen in time, how cool :D
