Friends, scroll down to see what he have created as his blog header as well as some of his content! He COPIED EXACTLY What I've done before this! Such as photoshop artwork, buttons, title headers etc and just changed the colors LOL! DAMN SMART NOT!
Really unhappy now. FYI, I respect design! it's something you should create/ conceptualize on your own! You can get inspired but this is OMG LOR! LOL!
Tell me guys! What should I do! I don't care if he gets page views by putting his link here cos that's the last thing he gonna get before close down/ change his skin and stuff!

tough luck. i thought it was mere coincidence at first. but having 4 similar images makes it highly improbable that two different can conceptualise the same things. The iPod image looks like cut/paste job. the head doesn't gel well.
I guess you can complain to MCMC on grounds of copyright infringement.
You can email the guy for clarification. Perhaps an acknowledgement that he modified/got idea from your design.
You can complaint to blogspot and ask everyone to flag it as well.
Chill la Rames. Plagiarism is common nowadays. but one thing, your works are definitely better than his. ;)

For however wrong he is, take it as a compliment that he finds your work so good that he would want to copy you.
I agree with you, his copying of your work is deplorable. Just as deplorable as the downloading of music, movies and usage of pirated software.

I hv to agree with furkids. Yes I believe he is inspired by ur art work so he had to try for him self. to do so he give it a go on a blog.
Different design same style. Its like he learn it from you so what he learns he had to do it similar. Like the puupet thingy looks like he just learn how do it. So yea I think he did some homework just had to do it in a similar way.
Though I should say this is kinda extreme though art creativity is similar but not as good as u. Photography sux big time and yea a copycat.
I hope he realize what he is doing and do something about it otherwise he has to consult with u la rames. :D

Thanks for all your comments/ supports. I'm just unhappy the way he do his "stuff". As I said, I don't mind if you got inspired from my work, I'm really happy if u do! but come on, not till you copy it just like that. Be innovative please. I'm sure he capable of doing something better but needs to put effort in creating something way NEW!

Mes, I believe you're a rational person. I agree with furkids and Mike. I read through his blog and he is a computer science student. It may be obvious but it can be that he is admiring of your artworks.

Of course I'm sure he has photo-editing skills, though its sad to see it all going to waste on copying you 100%.

You know, he copied the way you design but not copied your artwork at all. Sometimes we need to see more stuff to get inspiration. You know, some ppl is not that creative. For example the header, the copied the way you design it but his artwork is entirely different. if I were him, all I can do is crop your face and paste my face on it. hahaha! Chill la bro. You should be happy cos he really looks upon you. You are like a recipe book. People come to you for referal. I think the word 'Plagiarism' meaning he copied bulat-bulat. Chill ok?

I feel sorry for you Rames but what u are doing is also mean. Despite the fact that he is copying ur work or ur styles but insulting him and postin a comparison studies between u and him is also pure meanness. Also, he apologized and promised to remove them and i saw he did. So where you stand for insulting a person who still respected ur work although he plagiarised?
rames has a right to be pissed, i would be too, if i was in his position.
but i guess now things have gotten a bit out of hand, and i sincerely believe rames is not doing this out of "pure meanness", sheesh.

since you also have created your tutorial on some of that graphic, its nothing wrong if he make it his own version.

as a designer, i totally understand your anger about this issue. i would do the same thing as you did and this is your right to show your feelings regarding this matter. i don't clarify this as being mean. to me, it's more like giving a lesson.
i also appreciate those who are inspired by my design but i hate those who take it just like that. as if its coming from their "creative mind".
to mr. cairel,
if you find rames's designs are great and would love to be like him (or maybe you want to show that you can also design like him)..at least give him a credit.
remember, designers always appreciate other designers. ^^

he must be a big fan of yours Rames. I believe it's a process but copying people's ideas too much takes too much intensity and reading your blog to this related post, i was shocked but expecting things like this to happen due to your exposure on your workflow and design process made into public (via your tutorials which is nothing wrong btw).
But it's still ok compared to my case, I remember evaluating students interactive work at MMU in 2007 and to my surprise, a group of student caught red-hand when they presented a wayang kulit concept, and they had flash-decompile my digitalmalaya season 1 intro to be put as their final artwork, can u believe that?
I was like, what is my flash intro doing in their work. I tried to ask one of the student in that group who did that Flash, and she told me it was her friend, a guy. She immediately apologize and didn't realized it was my work that they had used. And apparently he went missing all the sudden, only to find out he saw me and ran away. I went berserk at a moment but also felt overwhelmed and flattered.
The guy who ripped my work went to practical in Arachnid. that's the last I heard from him ;-)
But you know, I forgive them because in a way, it makes us feel special because we are role model, and we should not judge or punish them for what they did, and we have better experiences, so instead of arguing or go banana's over them, we should guide and lead them by giving great advices.Remember, these people are just learning and they need guidance. One of the guy who ripped off my floral decorative to his blog is now a friend of mine who constantly seek advices.
I suggest you to be cool in this situation, because at the end of the day, we are professional people and we don't need to cater this small problem ;-) Let them learn the lesson about their cheap pride for stealing other people's effort and ideas instead of carrying his or her own of branding.
That's why it's important to watermark our work or use creative commons because no matter how legal you are, we can still see some night market (pasar malam) trying to copy Disney Character or even our very own Upin & Ipin illegally on t-shirts and other merchandise. Plagiarism is everywhere and we must be ready for it.
Rames, you do not have to delete your post entirely. Just remove his URL from your blog post is sufficient. Be a bit generous sometimes lor.
